FW Business Weekly introduces two new staffers: Derrick Gingery, the author of a piece on local newspaper circulation that prompted a big discussion last week, and Cindy Bevington.
Derrick Gingery will serve as a reporter. He worked for the last five-plus years as a reporter at the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake, Ill., covering local government, schools, police and economic development. He previously worked as a reporter at The Times in Frankfort, Ind., and as an intern at the Indianapolis Star.
Gingery grew up in the Chicago suburbs and attended Indiana Uni-versity in Bloomington.
Cindy Bevington will serve as the paper’s special section editor as well as write and edit for the daily newspapers in Kend-allville, Auburn and Angola, which are owned by the Business Weekly’s parent company, KPC Media Group.
Bevington, who grew up in several northeast Indiana communities, worked for the past year as the communications manager at Tri-State University in Angola. Between 1993 and 2004, she worked for KPC as an editor, reporter and columnist, winning numerous state and national awards. She also previously wrote for the High Springs Herald in High Springs, Fla.
