Belated FWBW Blogging

FWBW's Derrick Gingery reports on the progress of the Downtown Library's expansion:
Construction on the downtown Allen County Public Library is about 60 percent finished and remains on schedule for completion in late fall 2006.

Spokeswoman Cheryl Ferverda said staff members are eager to get out of their cramped temporary location at 200 E. Berry St.

About $65 million will be spent gutting and renovating the main library at 900 Webster St. When complete it will have free underground parking for patrons, increased shelf space, more meeting rooms, and a 280-seat auditorium and stage.

Disingenuous radio promotion? I don't believe it! Fort Files has the details:
More than 100 people crowded a Kendallville Taco Bell one evening last week because they believed rap superstar Eminem would be putting in an appearance, restaurant manager Michael Lane said.

Instead, a van from Fort Wayne hip-hop station WJFX FM (Hot 107.9) arrived to register fans in a drawing for tickets for an Eminem concert at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville.
