On June 9th, I posted an item on two N-S staffers leaving the paper.
We've just been informed that the N-S is losing two talented staffers: reporter Dave Benson and photographer Aaron Suozzi. No word on what their respective next moves will be.
Today, Derrick Gingery fills us in:

Overtime, a free weekly magazine, will launch Thursday with coverage of high school, college and professional sports, focusing on Allen County. Local auto racing and extreme sports like skateboarding also will be included.

Former Fort Wayne News-Sentinel photographer Aaron Suozzi and former sports writer David Benson are starting the new publication.

“We just saw there was a need for more in-depth local coverage,” Suozzi said. “There are a lot of things going on that don’t get covered.”

[...]Benson said initially he and Suozzi will be doing 75 to 90 percent of the work, but will have some help from freelancers. The magazine will have some other voices, including a regular column by former WISE, channel 33, sports anchor Bryan Boes, who is known for his sense of humor.

“We’ve given him free reign,” Benson said. “We’ll give our writers the creative freedom.”

No word on whether that last quote from Benson is a thinly-veiled dig at his former employer, but feel free to speculate...
