Speaking of Hollywood entertainment with a NE Indiana/NW Ohio connection, I forgot to mention Steve Penhollow's column on Sunday about New Haven native Jim Leonard, Jr.'s new television series, "Close to Home."
CBS’ “Close to Home,” which debuts at 10 p.m. Oct. 4, is set in Indianapolis and is about young motherhood and callow advocacy.

“It’s a show in some ways about the challenges of being a working mom,” Leonard says via phone from Los Angeles. “It’s about wondering how much or how little to give either of those worlds and the realization that there’s no right answer.”

Crimes will be solved and the wheels of justice will turn, but diapers will also be changed.

“We’re in the old ‘Judging Amy’ slot,” says the New Haven High School grad. “It’s a ‘character-drama-meets-procedural.’ ”
