Wait a Minute...

Havng a university presence downtown? What a novel idea!
It’s long been said that universities have an important role in an area’s economic development. But none has ever been so directly involved in one city as Indiana University South Bend’s new Elkhart campus. The 16,000-square-foot, $2.5 million facility will be built in the heart of downtown Elkhart. More than 1,500 students were enrolled last year at IUSB’s Elkhart campus on the west side of the city. The new downtown building is being funded through contributions from local civil leaders and area corporations. Town-gown cooperation doesn’t get much better.
No better way to guarantee that people are going to be downtown all the time than to make them go to school and live there!
